2016_August_IncomeReport

It’s time for another income report! This is my second income report and my fourth month blogging. I’m excited to compare August to July and see how much I’ve progressed.

Most people are very reserved with talking about their finances so let me explain the reason for these posts.

Why I Publish Income Reports

If it weren’t for other bloggers posting their income reports I would have never started this website. I am so grateful for their willingness to be open, honest, transparent, and inspire me to get started blogging. I hope I can do the same for others!

This website is about making money from home. If I am going to write articles about how to make money from home, then I’d better be able to do it myself. I want you to see what works for me and give you ideas of what can work for you too! I want to have a detailed look at which of my at-home endeavors is worth my time and show that it’s possible to make money from home.

I hope to one day look back at these early income report and see how far I’ve come. By posting these reports early in my journey I have a good reference point to track my progress. Let’s take a look at how my four month old blog is performing.

Income Breakdown

My number one job is being a mom. Driving kids to school & sports, doing laundry, grocery shopping, and listening to them talk and talk and talk (please stop telling me recaps of the cartoon we’ve watched 100 times!), all take priority over my financial endeavors. While I want to provide opportunities and the best life possible for them, I know their happiness is more dependent on me being there for them over me being able afford certain luxuries. At most, I’m working a few hours a day. I know I could grow this blog a lot faster (as I’ve seen others do) if I were to put in 60 hour weeks, but that isn’t the case for me right now. I have a wonderful husband who provides enough financially that I can focus on our family. If you want to work from home, 40+ hours a week, and make a full time income, I believe you can do it. I’m not there yet, but hopefully as I continue to work hard I’ll see my success grow. I am very happy with my August results and have a lot of plans for September!

Income Goals

I’m actually really happy about my August report! My goal is to get to $1,000/month by June and I already came very close to it. The part of the report I’m most happy with is that my blogging income surpassed all my other revenue sources and it’s only my fourth month of blogging! If you want to start a blog, go for it! Read my detailed description of how to get started here. This blog paid for itself within three months.

Blogging Stats

Facebook: 508 Followers – Woo Hoo! Passed the 500 mark!

Pinterest: 577 Followers – I also passed the 500 mark for Pinterest! I just signed up for a Pinterest scheduler yesterday, so we’ll see how that plays out in September.

Twitter: 90 Followers – I’m not putting the effort in Twitter like I am Pinterest and FB, so I’m good with this for now.

Website Pageviews: 1,990

Website Users: 1,117

Since this website is still very young, I am trying not to worry about pageviews too much and just focus on quality content and getting everything running smoothly. I have not done any advertising, guest posting, or even told my friends and family about my site yet. So pageviews are obviously low, but again, it’s just my 4th month blogging. Also, I filtered my own IP address out of Google Analytics so I could get an accurate idea of pageviews without myself skewing the data. I do need to get my pageviews up though. I’m extremely happy with the money earned compared to the number of views, but I’m worried that was a bit of luck that won’t continue.

Conclusion

I’m very happy with the income I made in August. I almost doubled my July income! I have a lot still to do and just need to find the time to do it! Isn’t that always the case?

  1. Great job! I used to play piano all the time as a kid and I haven’t played much in years until last week. I definitely missed it!
