2017 May Income Report Post

Welcome to my May 2017 blogging & income report! This month’s income report is unique because I hardly did any physical work and most my income was completely passive! The only work I did was teaching piano and fulfilling a couple Etsy orders (about an hour or two total). I went out of town twice and spent a lot of time with family so working took a backseat. So making almost $1,200 is a great feeling. Read below for details on how I did it!
Check out my past income reports here. My personal goal is to make as much money as I can from home while not sacrificing any of my family responsibilities. This means I’m cooking, cleaning, going on field trips, arranging play dates, driving to/from sports, etc. and then working from home in my “spare” time. I started My Income Journey to show you how it’s possible to make money and save money from home! I hope you can gain some insight into what works (or doesn’t) and improve your own income journey! I love being a stay at home mom and think everyone should have the option to make money from home!

2017 May Income Report Analytics

Conclusion

The best part about May was I barely worked! I did my piano lessons (that isn’t passive), replied to a few Etsy emails (maybe 2 hours total on Etsy for the month), and didn’t do a single blog post, work on photography, or any other side hustles. That means I made $823.28 passively! One thing to remember about passive income is it doesn’t mean you get paid for doing nothing, it means you get paid over and over for doing the work once. I have hundreds of photos that I’ll continue to get paid for without me doing any more work. If I never post again or work on this website I can still make money from it. It’s awesome!

If you get my newsletter you know that I didn’t work in May because of a family emergency. The #1 reason I work from home is so I can be with my kids and only work when it’s convenience for me. It wasn’t convenient in May, so I didn’t work. Money is important, but family and time with family is something you can never take for granted. I’m dedicated to making my financial goals a reality without sacrificing family. I know there are many of you that aren’t able to stay home or who prefer to work outside of the home, and we all need to do what’s best for us and our situations. If working from home is your goal, and I’m assuming that’s probably why you’re on this site, then make it happen! It might take some time to get your business profitable (I’m still not making goal amount yet), but I’m getting closer and closer and know I can do it and so can you!

I started My Income Journey in July 2016 and it’s amazing to see how all these little work at home jobs really add up! See my cummulative  income reports here!

  1. Great income report! I love how passive it all is and that you are able to drop everything and still make money. Really admire how you are putting your family first in all this!

  2. I’d love to see an example of your stock photo work so I can get an idea of what a good submission is.
