Welcome to MyIncomeJourney.com! I’m so glad you stopped by. My name is Amy and I created this site to give a realistic view of various ways you can make money working from home.
My journey started back in 2006 when I moved states with my husband and new baby. I had been a high school teacher up until my baby was born and even though I loved teaching, I knew I wanted to stay home and focus on being a mom for awhile. My husband had just began his career and we weren’t sure what being home owners, new parents, and starting a new job would really do to our savings account. I looked at our new house and realized I wanted to start decorating. But was that in the budget? I wasn’t sure yet, everything was so new. Thus began my journey to make money from home. My husband and I agreed that whatever income I made I could spend on any frivolous, not-in-the-budget thing. My first purchase with my work from home money were some decorative pots for above our cabinets from Hobby Lobby. And thus my journey began.
I’ve tried lots (and I mean lots!) of ways to earn extra income while still being able to stay home with my three kids. During each of my endeavors I searched the web to get money making ideas, tips on being successful, and how to retire by the age of 40 and live on a Caribbean island (ha!). As I’ve tried these various avenues for making some extra cash, I’ve learned things that work, things that don’t work, and what to really expect.
I’ve created this site to show you what your average SAHM that’s working during nap time, getting interrupted every 15 minutes, but willing to try something new can actually accomplish. I’ll share with you my tips along the way, my actual earnings, and help you find your way to work from home. Whether your goal is $100/month or $10,000/month, let’s learn how we can make it happen.
