I actually wasn’t planning on shopping today, but we needed a few things for a camping trip so I decided to take advantage of some sales while I was at the store. I only spent about 20 minutes getting my coupons ready and I think I did alright. My general goal for items I don’t need right away is for them to be over 50% savings, this trip averaged around 60% savings. This type of couponing won’t be leading to my own coupon reality show, but it gives you a realistic view of how simple, deliberate shopping can save you money.

Below is my detailed spreadsheet on the items featured above. It shows you the retail price, what I paid, and the percentage saved. I am able to save this much by taking advantage of store sales, using ecoupons, clipped newspaper coupons, and printed coupons. I also get money back after shopping by using apps such as: ibotta, checkout51, mobisave, and berrycart. To read a detailed explanation on how to get started couponing, read my article, “How to Coupon Without the Extreme”.
